CHIREC ALUMNI MEET 2010
It was a scene that would make anyone shell out a fortune to witness. The Ex-Chirecian contingent from the batches of 2000 to 2009 flooded tha campus. The whole atmosphere was electrified by their shrieks of joy and sounds of laughter. There was no end to surprising, recognising and greeting old pals. The refrain on everyones lips was Oh my God! How much you have changed.
Memories took centre stage. The minute Ramani ma'am stood there to welcome them, an uproar erupted. She was so proud to mention that the little hands she held were now doctors, and engineers, and scientists and models and proprietors and such.
The Alumni newspaper and CHIREC blog were inaugurated and everyone vowed to report any achievement in the body of the Alumni, to be published every year.
When the turn came for our present students to lit the stage their excitement knew no bounds. It was an honour for them to perform for their seniors.
And while their hips jived and their hands synchronised graceful moves, all those ex'es got so nostalgic, their own precious school day moments came alive, and the drawing of the curtains brought them back.
Venkat sir came, and again the uproar. Nobody could deny the bond he still shares with them. He appreciated how facebook helped in bringing them all together. Though it was all new to him it was a worthwhile exercise (2+3=5) ! for once that did not need him to calculate figures, but build the Alumni.
He put up a presentation, that showed pics and chips of every school concert he had stacked up for a day like this. It warmed everyones heart, and some even wanted to have a grab of it.
One adorable guy who was mischief personified in his hey days at school wanted to know if we kept his disciplinary records around, so he could actually laminate atleast one and put it up in his room !! That would make one splendid souvenir!!
Teachers kept looking out for the faces they taught and they were in for a big surprise, because none had the slightest resemblance of the memory they had of them. Everyone looked so well grown, some grew fatter, some thinner, some macho, some prettier, some bolder, but oh! so comfortable with who they were.

No gathering can leave without a treat and to while the biting cold weather prevailed, hot smoking chaat and other delicaciesdid the rounds while groups of them kept chatting chatting chatting.
Moments to cherish, photos to click, hugs to share, didn't take long.
It was hard to bid goodbye, but the journey of tomorrow must be taken, with a promise to meet again. Please click here for more pictures.
