The programme for the Primary section is informal within the curricular
frame work and is designed to ensure the students get ample opportunities
to enjoy experiences of childhood. They are encouraged to leave their
books in school and the weight of the bag is monitored. Home work is in
the form of assignments.
The emphasis of the programme is on the child being able to learn without feeling the stress.
The salient features of the Primary curriculum are:
- Activity based learning
- Emphasis on understanding and application.
- Opportunities to discover knowledge
- Online lessons for revision.
- Integration of technology in day to day classroom teaching and learning .
- Emphasis on social responsibility.
- Going beyond the textbook and relating learning to real life experiences.
Evaluation:
Students are assesed on the basis
of of complete comprehensive evaluation comprising of class work , assignments
and projects.
The student will also be evaluated
for the entire term with respect to class room interaction, submission
of class work/homework and projects.
Since the assesment is continuous
and comprehensive, the students need to be in regular touch with the lessons
done at the school. the objective is to assess the student's understanding
of the subject and the ability to apply knowledge rather than the ability
to memorise.
